How stainless steel is made
If you have ever wondered how stainless steel was made you might find this video interesting, you can see how scrap stainless is recycled by melting in an electric arc furnace then molten steel is poured into a continuous caster to form it into a recognisable shaped material. Once cooled the material is re-rolled into thinner material followed by several processes to produce the required size and finishes required.
The clip is courtesy of Outokumpu the Finnish stainless steel maker and shows a good insight into the steel making process, although there is a lot more detail in the actual production than seen here this is a good introduction.

Impressive video… Stainless steel has been developed to resist a number of corrosive environments.
