New surcharges for March delivery
The surcharges for stainless steel deliveries in March are due for announcement this week by the key European Mills with big falls expected. It is anticipated in the UK that due to a weak pound coupled with falling commodity prices that the figures will be similar to those listed below:-
304 (1.4301) £630
316 (1.4404) £1006
430 (1.4016) £249
This shows a general decrease more importantly the ferritic (430) has fallen significantly due to falling Ferro Chrome prices. With similar levels expected across Europe this will add further to the downward pressure on prices in an already depressed market. Confirmed figures will follow shortly.
