Taiwan increases prices

facil 1 Taiwan increases pricesPrices are staring to increase in Taiwan mainly due to Nickel rises but also the market seems to be gathering strength.

Taiwan’s Yieh United Steel Corp. (Yusco) has announced to raise both domestic and export prices on 300 series stainless steel products.

Yusco decided to raise domestic price by NT$3,000/ton and US$100/ton for export customers, effective from 16 May. The move is triggered by a combination of improving demand, buyers holding very low stocks and higher nickel prices, according to the company.

Yusco is planning to run total capacity during June-July. Tang Eng, currently running at 85 percent capacity, is also expected to announce a price increase.

Further clarification that stainless steel prices have moved of the bottom.
